Christmas Time in The City

Hello, Friends! ✨ How was the end of 2020 for you? I really hope you enjoyed the Holidays, and spent some quality time with yourself (you should practice this more often) and those you love. πŸ€— I'm very grateful to say I did. I'm sure this past year was unlike any others for most of us. I know that many people must have been forced to spend their Christmas a bit differently than what was originally planned for, due to Covid. I have friends who were separated with their loved ones for months now. One of my girlfriends couldn't spend her Christmas Eve with mom, because she had a positive test. It's so very sad. But I know that we all will be able to make up for this madness very soon! πŸ™ We're all learning and growing by what's happening, even though these are some cruel lessons. If you follow me for a while, you know that I've always been a Christmas junkie. πŸŽ… So I can't really escape from the atmosphere even if I try - baking cookies, singing carols, decorating the apartment, buying and wrapping all bunch of gifts, doing friends meet ups, watching Christmas movies etc. This past year, I decorated my tree in November already, and I also bought all the gifts online. It saved me so much hassle in December. At first, I was thinking about doing a completely gift-free year (no gifts given or received) but, oh well... I saw too many cute things in the meantime. πŸ™ˆ I especially enjoyed picking out toys for my niece and nephew which are now 5 and 3. Here is a little peek, a bit of a 'go back' to the Spirit of Christmas. Let's extend the Holiday joy for a while longer...
I took plenty of pictures and I'm going to share some of them with you now. πŸ“·

I put my Christmas tree up when the leaves in the yard were still yellow and it was such a lovely transition from Fall to Christmas for me. πŸ‚πŸŽ„ Also, my plant family keeps growing, there will be a plant update veery veeeery soon! πŸŒ±
This year, as well as the previous one, I made some weird and funny gingerbread cookie shapes to make my friends laugh - it worked! πŸ˜‡
This 'poo party' cookie was inspired by my favorite GIF. πŸ˜Š
And here come the all-time favorite cookies - vanilla rolls. Would you guys want me to share my recipes? πŸ€” I always bake according to my old grandma's Christmas recipes.
Some more gingerbread cookies... Decorating them was the funny part!
The 'wasp nests' are popular mainly for their delicious filling that contains rum!
The finished products - vanilla rolls fresh out of the oven, wrapped in sugar.
Making of the 'linzer dough cookies'. Used a comet cookie cutter this time.
A detail of my Christmas tree. I honestly kept buying more decorations and adding to it constantly, so by the end of the season the tree was fully packed with ornaments.
I bought some cute pieces at a local Tiger shop. I especieally love the little silver camper van ornament! πŸ˜
Do you enjoy christmas gift wrapping as much as I do? πŸŽ This year I was wrapping into various types of paper but my most favorite one was definitely a scented one that smelled like pine trees.
Some of the gifts waiting to be wrapped...
The first snow of this Winter in Prague! ❄️ I think it was on the second week of December around 6:30 AM. On that day I woke up early because I went indoor wall climbing with a few friends, and this weather totally surprised me. Unprepared, in my heel boots, I nearly fell like 50 times just walking to the bus stop nearby. But I loved every second of it! Since then, it hasn't snowed in Prague sadly.
A gift from myself to myself - my first combat boots, Martens style. Purchased on Asos (this pair). I wore heel boots pretty much daily for work until I put these on. Now I don't want to wear anything else! πŸ‘’
Looking for a diy inspiration in a hobby shop.
I love meeting up with friends and exchanging Christmas gifts before the Holidays. This one box says: 'All these stickers are approximately same long'. Lol, totally random and funny.
Loved my little surprise.
A shopping centre at 'Narodni trida' in Prague called Quadrio.
But first, cinnamon roll at Starbucks.
Curious about what's inside here for sure. πŸŽ
Took this pic while walking the Prague streets. Seing all the fashion shop closed in one of the top shopping streets here due to covid made me sad. Window shopping is my fave thing though. Aren't these bears super cute?
Even took some artsy snaps LOL. This is a river view with a boat if you were wondering what the hell...
And what was the present? A lightbox with letters! Found out right away that there are all letters twice but only Z just once. Funny these were the only letters I actually needed for my name! πŸ˜‚
Now I wear these shoes around the office. πŸ˜‚ Shiba inu slippers are such a dream!
On the morning of December 4th, me and my coworker went hardening into the Vltava river. You saw a video on my Instagram if you follow me. I can tell you, you can't imagine what COLD means until you go in the water when it's 2°C outside. πŸ₯Ά I managed to stay in the river for about 40 seconds and then run screaming on the shore. I will definitely try again soon but oh man, it was pretty crazy!
An alocasia plant that I decided to foster. She nearly died and only has three leaves left, but I will give her all the love and patience she needs, and we will see. πŸŒ±
A wired deer as a decoration from a hobby shop (it was on sale!!).
It's the little things. I get happy simply from seeing a new leaf, a blooming plant... My Medinilla magnifica is growing a new set of leaves and it's so cute! πŸ˜Š
My friend brought me this lovely dry flower bouquet when visiting me in November and it still looks the same until this day! πŸ˜ I will probably keep it as long as it looks great, which might even be a few more months?
My mom made this unusual Christmas wreath for me. I matched it with candle and had it on the shelf during the Holidays. πŸ•―️
Even on my days off, I wasn't all that lazy. I used the extra time off for replanting of my plants that needed it, such as yucca. Bought a new ceramic pot, a proper soil for palms and she's been doing much better since.
Snow globe stickers from Tiger. I used them for the Christmas letters I sent out.
One of the Christmas cards I bought, drew by Marie BroΕΎovΓ‘. I love her so much, you will definitely hear more about her on my blog in the future. Look at all the little details on the card - unbelievable. πŸ˜
Went to a church this year for a Christmas mass. My grandma used to go and so I did it in her memory and remembered her. It was beautiful.
A fresh bouquet that I got from my boyfriend right before Christmas. πŸ₯° Blue, yellow and white is such a wonderful combo. πŸ’™πŸ’›πŸ€
A pretty obvious gift for my friend. πŸ˜…
Renata was happy about all her gifts yay. πŸ˜ƒ The magazine she's holding infront of her face is this one, written by Petr Casanova. It's an edition to celebrate the First Class 10th anniversary - (sorry, it is only published in Czech language I think). It's basically a motivational platform that educates about life, love, health and relationships.
We sure celebrated our friendship with a great pizza. 😁 Vesuvio with some extra ham on the top!
I already mentioned this amazing lady here. This is a drawing by Marie BroΕΎovΓ‘. When I first heard of her, it was because my mom found the tarot cards that she drew. She found them in the attic and they first belonged to my grandma. Then my mom gave them to me. Since then, I'm obsessed with Marie's art. She is such a wonderful human being too, so sweet, always full of light. She is a fairy. I was lucky to meet her in her gallery in person the last time I visited right before the Holidays. She even wrote a few words in my new 2021 planner for me. πŸ’œ
I think this was my last picture with long hair! πŸ™ˆ It was freezing out and we all had to wait in the line to get to the shop (as we only have a limited amount of customers allowed in the shops due to Covid now!)
I also purchased her panther painting in an A3 format (that was put in a black frame and given as a gift), 2021 planner, postcards, notebooks etc. Her shop is full of magical things. If you come to Prague, make sure you don't miss her gallery.
Pretty sure I could channel the HBO with this antena. πŸ˜‚πŸ‘Œ Oh how happy I was to finally sit at my hairstylist. The hair needed a little help and I needed a change!
My talented hairstylist cut it straight and I became a proud blonde lob owner. 😊 How refreshing! All of a sudden, I feel like I have even more hair now. And a lighter head.
This is a bit updated version of my tree. πŸŽ„ Already added some pastel pink ornaments here, and purchased a few freshly cut pine branches that are in a vase under the tree. It smelled like Christmas.
A new buddha that was given to me for Christmas. Thank you Tereza. πŸ’˜
Another day, another purchase. Another plant in the room. Jungle in the making. πŸŒ΄πŸ™ˆ
Books are the best presents! πŸ“š This is another beautiful gift that I got. Plantopedia. Probably the most gorgeous book I have ever seen and owned. It's huge - full of information and amazing pictures. The only down side is, I want all the plants that are mentioned inside! πŸ˜€
A home made khachapuri. No, I did not make it - I only ate it. LOL (I have an amazing personal chef. πŸ˜‰)
Cozy evenings with food and Netflix. Managed to do a Harry Potter and Lord Of The Rings marathon finally! 🍿
Helped my parents decorate their tree when visiting. My mom was dancing, dad wanted to have it done already, and their dog was sleeping through all that. Classic. πŸ˜‚
Can you believe that my parents still have these lantern lights that were purchase in the 80's? They are an absolute tradition in our family and have had their sure spot on all Christmas trees since about 1986. Reminds me so much of my childhood, a real nostalgia!
Christmas carols by Bambini di Praga. Another tradition in my parents house. We used to play it during our festive dinner and gift unwrapping. I was happy to see that this album is on YouTube and I can play it anytime I want even in my place. It is an all time best album with Czech Christmas songs in my opinion. πŸŽΆ
More food, just because. A home made focaccia bread. πŸ€€
I love the vibe in my apartment right now. πŸ€—✨ Lights everywhere, plants everywhere, it's so warm and cozy. Since I bought a difuser, my plants have been doing better and I was also breathing better. It does make a difference. Sometimes I put a few bergamot oil drops in there and my place smells lovely. Thank you for the buddha Renatka. πŸ’˜
Well, and that's it for today. 😊 I hope you enjoyed this post. I've got new ideas for the blog on my mind already. I want to really start writing and sharing my adventures again. Thank you so so much for being here, for supporting my blog. I'm wishing you all the very best in 2021! Stay happy and healthy! XO Zuzana

  1. Those Christmas cookies look delicious and are delightfully entertaining to look at!
I am smiling broadly looking at your photos of them.
You looked fabulous (as usual) posing both in your graphic T-shirt dress and new boots, in the beige turtleneck, stressed black leggings and cute fox slippers, at the hairdressers, and out at the 'Narodni trida' Quadro shopping centre in Prague - you are and look very pretty.
Thank you for letting us see all of these beautiful mood-lifting photos from your holiday season!
Best wishes for a fashion-tastically happy, healthy, and successful year 2021 xx <3 :-)
